Only a select few in the human world knew of the existence of the V Unit, a small group of highly trained Marines - who happened to be vampires.

And it would have stayed that way.

But when events in the vampire world threatened the stability of the human world, the powers that be called for the unit's specialized services. An intrepid war correspondent who'd seen more than his fair share of fighting, stumbles across the unit by accident, and is drawn into their world.

Bronson has no problem with that, given that he gets to spend time with a hunky Marine, Sarge. Although he won't remember any of this when they're through.

At least, that was the plan...

The V Unit edition by Max Vos AJ Corza Literature Fiction eBooks

The V Unit, Max Vos. I'm still trying to adjust to reading about the supernatural, and this story has more suspense, danger, and death than I would ordinarily like, but I still couldn't stop reading, because there is also love and romance. All the beautiful young people being changed kinda made me cringe. I prefer to make love, not war. ;-) But Max is a good writer, and this is not the first book I've read by him. I noticed that some comments were made about typos; as a former literary editor (now retired), I notice things like that, and could wish that writers enlisted a qualified proofreader, but that can be said about most of the writers of m2m romance. Still, I think its a very good book!

The V Unit edition by Max Vos AJ Corza Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Really liked this book. Will look forward to reading more from him. This book was recommend by a friend of his to me.
I can't say anything more than just how amazing Max is. This story made me laugh, cry, it had such emotion.
I loved this book. I liked how the character reacted with each other to get along and fall in love with which each other. I hope there is more books following this one. Erin
Wow, do I have mixed feelings about this one. On the positive side, several of the characters were pretty well-developed, interesting and/or likable. Sarge, Bronson and Woody, as well as Marcus, were enjoyable, and a couple of the Committee members were interesting. The idea of a "V-unit" as well as a sort of United Nations of vampires was intriguing, in it's way. As always with Max Vos' books, the sex was juicy.

On the negative side, however, the plot was disjointed with some pretty big holes in it that were just screaming to be filled, and doing so would have made the story so much better. So much more could have been done with ALL of the relationships in the book, but particularly that of the two central Committee members, as well as Sarge & Bronson, and Woody and Marcus. And the careless way that the extremely violent rape of one of the main characters was handled was downright offensive. For all the attention that was paid to it, or all the reaction that the victim and his loved ones had to it, you would have thought that the individual had been mildly tickled instead of having had such a horrific act of violence done to him. Very disappointing, Max Vos.
If AMAZON had ten star reviews to rate this book I would, but I can only rate it five. I loved the story as it was well written. The plot was keep you in the story. The characters you could only love them. This was not the typical Max Vos book. Vampires? Yes! I loved it. I was engrossed from the first page. I loved this book. Good job Max, Good job.
This is only the second Max Vos book I've read and I loved it.

An elite unit of military vampires join forces with a human journalist to protect a secret trust and maintain balance in both the human and vampire worlds.

The story held my interest, although I am not usually a fan of military types. The story line was excellent. Intriguing, interesting, sometimes edge-of-your-seat. The sex was hot and there were a couple of intense scenes where you might need tissues. The main characters in the unit were well-developed and loveable. The committee of elder vampires provoked vivid images and commanded respect.

I don't want to give anything away so will not talk about the plot. This is a great read, a must for Max Vos fans. You won't be disappointed.

The story deserved five stars, however there were some formatting/editing issues which resulted in my rating of four. I would still recommend this book to anyone. Great book.
Max Vos is one of the few really good writers who are able to flesh out characters, who in other hands, would be mere cardboard cut outs. Adult novels or short stories are better for thoughtful character development rather than merely focusing on the salacious parts. I eagerly look forward to reading more of this authors output.
